Media reports say, US-South Korea bilateral talks will be held this month in Seoul to announce the deployment of a THAAD missile defense system in South Korea. The elements-contained "pendant" THAAD missile to South Korea is proliferating.

The subordination of the THAAD missile to South Korea would trigger a series of calamitous "chain reactions," which is drawing the world's attention.

Developed in the US, the THAAD missile is a mobile-theater ballistic missile defense system. It can realize a high altitude interception up to a 3,500-kilometer range to strike on-coming missiles.

The system plays a strategic role. Currently, the Asia-Pacific region's strategic missile patterns remain stable. But if the US would deploy THAAD missiles, the existing balance will be altered, while a new balance is difficult to construct in a short time.

The strategic missile order in the region might be set in chaos. Once THAAD missiles are deployed, Northeast Asian countries' missile power will encounter dramatic changes.

The missiles are controlled by Washington. The missile defense capabilities of the US in this area will be greatly enhanced. Nonetheless, this will seriously weaken the missile attack capability of the nations concerned. The US already has a powerful missile attack capability.

The deployment will enable the US to occupy a dominant position both in attack and defense missile capabilities. It will dominate the world to maintain its hegemony. Washington would build up a self-beneficial "new missile order."

Japan is the nation that will cause the most worry for the world. THAAD missiles deployment to South Korea can easily cause military movements of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Tokyo could also develop its missile attack and defense strength as a breakthrough from the bondage at home and abroad, with superior scientific and technological strength, it will become a missile strength power.

Meanwhile, the uncertainties of Japan's military development and its powerful missile capabilities would threaten security in the Asia-Pacific region.

THAAD missiles deployment to South Korea means that the combat effectiveness of the developing DPRK long-range strategic missiles will be greatly weakened.

The DPRK would likely enhance missile remote fighting capacities and other technical means to maintain its missile combat capability to protect against threats.

The status of the DPRK's missile development would enter a more treacherous state. It will be more difficult for the international community to learn the truth of missile development in the DPRK.

From Washington's point of view, the THAAD missile system is a strategic maneuver, and has the capabilities of weakening the attack missile power of Russia and China.

Once THAAD is deployed to the "doorway" of Russia and China, it means that the strategic campaign missiles of the two countries are subject to be intercepted, which will seriously weaken the strategic capabilities of Beijing and Moscow.

The two countries will not take the issue lightly. To maintain their strategic interests, they will undertake necessary countermeasures.

The US deployment of THAAD missiles will not only change the stability of the global pattern of strategic missiles, but also disrupt the missile order in the region.

Tokyo may take the opportunity to develop its strategic missile attack and defense capabilities and throw Northeast Asia into chaos, while Asia-Pacific regional security may enter a turmoil period.

The US deployment of THAAD missiles to South Korea is a giant stone that arouses fierce waves; and there would be a substantial negative impact in the future.
