On February 18, 2016, Pakistan's first special English edition magazine hosted a launching ceremony in Islamabad to introduce Chinese President Xi Jinping to Pakistani readers.

The color-plated report, entitled  "Xi Jinping - the annual politician of 2015" was published by Pakistan's mainstream English newspaper, "Pakistan Observer."

The nearly 100-page report printed excellent photos and texts about Xi, describing his statecraft and contributions to domestic and foreign affairs, as well as his role as the top leader of China, his younger years and family life.

Sun Weidong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, said that polls launched by the Pakistan Observer showed respondents selected President Xi to be the annual politician of 2015, and the magazine issued a special edition to commemorate it.

President Xi was highly-praised by all circles in Pakistan. Sino-Pakistan friendship had received widespread support in the nation.

In 2014, President Xi was selected as one of The 100 Most Influential People by Times magazine. Jon Huntsman, former US Ambassador to China, wrote "Xi is another Chinese leader deserving of the transition label, which included former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping."

Xi's steady style exudes confidences and has attracted much attention from global thought leaders. Xi's thoughts have focused on domestic harmony; and the world calls for China to participate in major international decisions.

While President Xi has ruled the nation, he has become recognized as a global leader representing China.

Shaukat Aziz, Pakistani Prime Minister and foreign affairs adviser, said, "President Xi is an outstanding statesman with foresight and sagacity. He brings new concepts and ideas for the development of China and the world."

The "Belt and Road" initiative introduced by Xi offers a far-reaching impact. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, flagship project, will play a major role in transforming Pakistan and the surrounding region.

In 2015, Xi had paid the highest number of foreign visits since assuming office. He has gone abroad eight times and traveled to 10 countries, while attending nine international conferences.

His visits included 21 cities, 14 countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa that consisted of 223 meetings and 44 speeches in total. These visits aim to construct new partnerships based on equality and mutual consultations.

He's creating a new type of partnership based on equality and consultation and a new pattern of security based on fairness and justice, as well as fostering new development prospects with open, innovations, and inclusiveness.

His reciprocity is promoting new cultural exchange models that feature diversity, and setting a new global ecological system.

In 2015 President Xi has formed China's new diplomatic era as a major country, deserving the world's respect due to his charm.

President Xi's Pakistan visit on April 20-21 had been his first cross-border visit last year, as well as the first visit paid by a sitting Chinese president in the past nine years.

The visit had lasted for 28 hours and consisted of 18 events. He said, "We can feel Pakistan friendship for the Chinese through every detail."

He met with Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to jointly enhance an all-weather strategic partnership of cooperation.

Their elevated-status of cooperation stands unique in the history of China-Pakistan ties. Both sides have become a veritable community of destiny.

Xi said this kind of partnership is a vivid portrayal of China-Pakistan all-weather friendship and all-round cooperation. Both sides deserve it.

During Xi's keynote speech at the Pakistani parliament, lawmakers had clapped at least fifty different times.

President Mamnoon had granted the Pakistani Medal, the highest medal awarded by the Pakistani government, to Xi, which reflects Pakistani government and people's friendship towards the Chinese people.

In the 2016 New Year greetings, Xi said the world is suffering from many problems. The international community expects solutions from Beijing.

There will be no absence from China. Amid wars and disasters, we need compassion along with responsibility and action.

China will be open to the world for a long time, and will do its best to assist people suffering difficulties and to expand Beijing's "circle of friends."

While People still appreciate what Xi said in his New Year greeting, Xi Jinping's trip in 2016 has already taken off.

Beijing's diplomacy with Chinese characteristics and self-confidence as a major country and Xi's personal charm will continue to enamor the world stage.
