Across China, grand celebrations are being held to mark the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China today. They include art exhibitions, galas, and plays, all of which are showcasing how Chinese Communist Party members strived for independence during wartime, and achieved new goals afterwards.

Xishui forest park in north-east China’s Heilongjiang province became busy, as locals and CPC members teamed up and planted melons. A party member said they are trying to set an example.

“The grass-roots party members are a leading flag. The masses are watching us. If we succeed in planting the melons, and increasing the income, the masses will voluntarily follow us,” said CPC Party member Zhang Maolin.

In the southern province of Hainan, farmers organized a song gala that praises the improvement of their living conditions.

“Every line of the song flows into our hearts,” a farmer said.

There are also celebrations in the old revolutionary base areas in the northwestern province of Gansu.

“We praise the birthday of our Party, we praise the glorious history of our Party. We think of the hard working time, inherit the Long March spirits, and carry forward the Nanliang spirits,” CPC Party member Yu Yongyao said.

Meanwhile in Shaanxi province, a grand exhibition called “Road to Revival” is being held. Visitors can see more than 500 photos that tell the history of China from the First Opium War of 1839 up to the present.
