The world of basketball is mourning the passing of Craig Sager. The man known for wearing flamboyant suits while conducting sideline interviews succumbed to his battle with leukemia.
Colorful sports broadcaster Craig Sager passes away at 65
Sager’s broadcasting career spanned more than four decades covered an array of sports, including the Olympics, but was most closely associated with NBA broadcasts. His interviews were integral part of the games, for being informative, and also for his attire.
Sager was diagnosed in 2014 with leukemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. The illness forced him to miss the 2014-15 NBA season, but he returned to work after a bone marrow transplant from his son. His cancer returned earlier this year.
Sager passed away Thursday. He was 65.
