The small nation of Uruguay has the big distinction of building South America’s first sustainable school. It produces no waste and is powered by solar panels.

Recycled materials used to construct the building include tires, bottles and aluminum cans.

Young students not only get to attend a school that’s “green,” they are given an environmental education and learn to protect the environment as well.

Check out Uruguay’s environmentally-friendly place of learning.
