A writer inspired by China's kingdom of animals - Yunnan

Shen Shixi is a prize-winning Chinese author, well-known for his animal stories. He was born in 1952 in Shanghai and lived in Southwest Yunnan Province for 36 years. He began his writing career in the 1980s and has published works of more than 500 million words, which include Jackal and Wolf, Dream of the Wolf King, The Last Warrior Elephant, etc.

Shen is a member of the Chinese Writers Association, Committee Member of the Yunnan Writers Association. His works had been awarded: "World Children's Literature Peace Award", "Chinese Writers Association National Children's Literature Excellent Works Award", "Selected Works of Chinese Literature" by People's Literature Publishing House.

The Panview team gave an exclusive interview with Shen Shixi this September. He talked about his experiences in Yunnan and his suggestions over how to promote Chinese literature.
