"The hamburgers are delicious and girls are pretty!" said a group of French boys, who sat in a disorderly row in the Expo Park and had just eaten hamburgers bought at a western restaurant, as they told a reporter about their experiences during their second day in the Expo Park.
According to these boys, everything is very convenient and there is nothing they cannot adapt to as they had thought. They came to China for a visit during their summer holidays and the Shanghai World Expo is their first stop.
Among them, a 22-year-old boy named Erik said shyly that the Chinese people have been friendly to them, especially the many beautiful women volunteers who have left a profound impression on him. He said the Expo Park is large, but they won’t get lost because the smiling volunteers wearing green uniforms can be seen everywhere outside each stadium, helping people with information, and they are all also very beautiful.
The World Expo has received a large number of foreign visitors since it opened 70 days ago. Foreign visitors of all colors and languages can be found everywhere in the park. Some of them have come with their family members and others have come with their relatives and friends, and both want to enjoy a happy visit.
David, who is from New Zealand and works in the New Zealand Pavilion, has worked here since the beginning of the World Expo. But he is surprised to find that the Expo has drawn so many visitors. “The number of people I have seen here is much more than the entire population of New Zealand,” said David.
Regarding the visitors, David says that it is understandable that some visitors have a bad temper as a result of the hot weather and the long lines. However, most of them are very polite.
There are three words that the foreign visitors used most frequently: “good,” “beautiful” and “interesting.” They all gave a “thumbs up” for the construction and creativity of the pavilions.
The World Expo brings cultures from around the world to China, while foreigners are often focused on looking for Chinese culture in the park. One of the pavilions that those foreign visitors would like very much to see is the China Pavilion, but many cannot see it because of the shortage of reservation tickets.
Besides the China Pavilion, the China Joint Provincial Pavilion is also a big hit among foreigners. Frederick, who comes from France, spoke to the reporter about his feelings after visiting it. “France is far away from China, I used to know little about China’s culture and history, but after visiting the China Joint Provincial Pavilion, I know something about every province of China, moreover, the pavilions also include many historical elements, which allowed me to learn about the Ming and Qing dynasties,” he said.
