They were originally unknown to each other. One is from the flooded Chengkou and the other is a non-native passing through the town. When facing the flood, they worked together and rescued more than 20 people.
No dreadful disaster could stop brave people from saving lives.
Miaoba Town flooded

brothers from now!”
On July 29 after the flood disaster, extremely hot weather covered Miaoba town in Chengkou County. The water level of the dammed lake remained at a high level and animal carcasses could be seen flowing on the water. Miaoba town is situated just beside the dammed lake and residents were cleaning the rotten sludge on the streets or at home except for Zuo’s family.
It was a nightmare, and also the worst natural disaster that local residents have ever suffered. More than 70 million cubic meters of earth and rock fell down the mountain, blocked the Luojiang River, and created a barrier lake. The 4,000 residents in Miaoba had to be relocated immediately.
Several days later, as the disaster victims gradually calmed, two names were on the minds of everyone. They were Zuo Tianbing, from Shixing Village, Miaoba Town, and Mei Nongzhong, from Baile Village, Tianhe Town in Kai County.
On that night, they risked their lives and rescued 24 people from the flood. Zuo was even sent to the hospital because of a lung infection he caught during the rescue.
