Africa's top team plays for a place at 2013 Africa Cup

Africa's top team Cote d'Ivoire will play Senegal for a place at next year's Africa cup of nations to be hosted in South Africa.

The 16 teams from this year's finals are joined by 14 teams from the second round of qualifying in the third and final round. The Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire tie has been seen as the toughest in the draw for the last qualifying phase.

Defending champions Zambia will play Uganda while Nigeria who are hoping to qualify after missing the 2012 edition play Liberia. Libya plays Algeria in the North Africa derby while Central African Republic who knocked out Africa's most successful side in the competition plays Burkina Faso. The ties will be played out over two legs between 7-9 September and 12-14 October.
