Two South Koreans have been infected by NDM-1 CRE also known as the Superbug. The bacterium can resist most antibiotics.
Both patients, a man in his 50s and a woman in her 70s, are both being treated for lung disease and diabetes at the same hospital.
South Korea's health ministry says the possibility is slim the two were infected before coming to the hospital.
