Iran kicked off the second International Nuclear Disarmament Conference in Tehran on Sunday.

At the meeting, an Iranian official said Iran has so far produced over 50 kg of 20-percent enriched uranium, and still needs to speed up the production.

Iran also says it is getting ready to connect its first nuclear power plant to the national grid in one month's time.

In January, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany wrapped up crucial nuclear talks with Iran in Istanbul, but failed to reach any agreement on the Iranian nuclear program. Iran's permanent representative to the IAEA said his country was open to future talks.

Ali-Asghar Soltanieh, Iran's Permanent Representative to IAEA, said, "We're always prepared for negotiations without any preconditions. And this is right."
