Israel to strengthen relations with China

Israel's President Shimon Peres has met with visiting chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army of China, Chen Bingde, in Jerusalem.

During the meeting, Peres welcomed Chen's visit, and said the friendship between the two sides has lasted for a long time. He added Israel will continue to work towards expanding relations with China, as well as pushing forward cooperation in military fields.

Chen said China is willing to deepen the exchanges between the two sides and push Sino-Israeli relations to a new height.

Also on Tuesday, Chen visited the Israeli military's urban warfare training center, and held security briefings with the Israeli military chief of staff and other security officials.
