Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast says Iran will never give up uranium enrichment activities.

The spokesman's remarks come as the Islamic republic and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany are negotiating to restart a new round of talks over Tehran's nuclear program.

Mehmanparast stressed that there can never be talk about giving up "peaceful" nuclear activities in Iran.

The West suspects that Iran's uranium enrichment may be meant for producing nuclear weapons, a charge which is denied by Iranian officials.

Meanwhile, Iran's Defense Minister says the country's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps will hold a military drill soon.

Iran wrapped up its 10-day naval drill in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman on Tuesday.
