More observers have joined the existing UN Supervision Mission, taking the number of observers to oversee the peace plan to nearly 190 in Syria.

A full team of 300 is expected by the end of the month to allow for talks on a political solution to the conflict that has so far claimed the lives of more than 9-thousand people.

The new arrivals include nine Chinese observers. Officials say the daily death toll in Syria has declined as the number of observers deployed around the country has risen.

Six Chinese military observers have flown from Beijing, to
join the UN monitoring mission in Syria.
