Top diplomats and defense chiefs from the US and South Korea will hold a "2+2 Ministerial Dialogue" on Thursday. The 2+2 ministerial meeting at the US State Department will include US Defense Secretary, Leon Panetta, and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton together with South Korean Defense Minister, Kim Kwan-jin, and South Korean Foreign Minister, Kim Sung-hwan.

An honor cordon was held on Tuesday in Washington to welcome the South Korean Defense Minister to the Pentagon. The State Department says the meeting will cover a full range of bilateral, regional and global issues. But attention is likely to focus on the DPRK. The DPRK in April attempted to send a satellite into space, and speculation grew that it was preparing a nuclear test. But the DPRK has denied that.
