The summit has been focusing on issues like Iran's nuclear program, the Syrian crisis and disarmament. It also covers regional issues in the Middle East, Afghanistan and Iraq. On Thursday, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi handed over the presidency of the movement to his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The summit has brought together representatives from more than 100 countries and regions. The Non Alligned Movement members and observer countries represent nearly two-thirds of the United Nations’ members. China became an observer in September, 1992.
