S. Korea, Japan, U.S. and Australia hold joint drill

The drill codenamed Cope North has begun in the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam, bringing together air forces from the US, Japan, Australia and South Korea.

The four countries will carry out airborne combat, humanitarian aid and disaster relief exercises at Andersen Air Force Base until the end of the month. 1,200 troops from the US, 430 from Japan and 240 from Australia will participate in the drill.

According to the US Air Force, South Korea has sent a team of 25 troops and a transport aircraft to Guam, and will only conduct humanitarian aid and disaster relief exercises.
