China will continue to attract more overseas enterprises to invest in China, by providing a better business environment. Qi Tianxing has the latest positive figures, on foreign direct investment.

China is a market worth cashing in on. And overseas companies just can't ignore it.

The Ministry of Commerce said the foreign direct investment China received in April reached more than 7.3 billion yuan... rising by a quarter year on year.

The figure brought FDI growth for the first four months to 11 percent from a year earlier.

More than 7 thousand foreign-funded companies were set up from January to April, 20 percent more than the same period last year.

Yao Jian, Spokesman, Ministry of Commerce, said, "The proportion of foreign investment in the service industry has risen to 45 percent. The proportion for the manufacturing industry is 47 percent. "

The Ministry of Commerce said China will continue to encourage overseas companies to invest in the country, and attract more investment to high-tech sectors and western regions.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao reassured European businessmen with companies in China at a meeting last month, that they won't face discrimination. He said the government will continue opening up to foreign investment.

China's FDI started to rebound in August last year after a sharp decrease in the first half.
