China's investments remains strong, industrial outputs slow

This week the National Bureau of Statistics released investment and industrial sector data for the first five months of the year.

Urban fixed-asset investment continued rapid growth at more than 6.7 trillion yuan. The rise is a 26 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The property sector saw investment jump by 38 percent. Industrial output growth slowed, but was still up by 16.5 percent.

The country's retail sales remain robust, hitting more than 1.2 trillion yuan. The figure is up nearly 19 percent on last year.
