EU launches anti-dumping probe into Chinese ceramic tiles

The European Union has launched an anti-dumping probe into imports of ceramic tiles from China. The commission said the complaint was lodged in May by the European Ceramic Tile Manufacturers' Federation, which alleged that Chinese tiles are being dumped at an average margin of 140 percent.

Chinese industry insiders say that one fifth of domestic ceramic tile producers might be wiped out of the European market, if the EU imposes the anti-dumping duties.
