China is adding 33 states to the list of developing countries, whose goods are largely exempt from import tariffs. The Finance Ministry says that from July 1st, it will scrap tariffs on about 60 percent of imports from countries on the list like Ethiopia, Kenya and Liberia.
Several goods have been added to the list for zero tariffs. They include fowl, aquatic products, unrefined agricultural products, mining products, medicines and commodities. Since 2001, China has had 41 countries on the zero-tariff list.
