The G20 summit in Toronto is drawing close, and insiders say the focus will be on maintaining global economic recovery.

Security is being heightened in Toronto, as the world's economic leaders make their way to attend the meeting. Summit attendees are likely to warn governments against blind optimism due to the fragile recovery of the world economy.

Officials say cutting deficit while sustaining development will be the highlight. Government spending, economic growth and financial reform are also key issues on the agenda. European leaders want to implement a banking tax but analysts say it will be difficult to find consensus on this proposal.

Earlier this week, Germany, France and the UK said they intend to levy the banking tax in their own nations.
