South Korean exports recorded strong growth in June. Boosted by global demand, exports rose 32 percent from a year earlier to a record high.
The figure has strengthened market expectations that interest rates could go up as early as next week. Figures also show South Korea's annual consumer price inflation unexpectedly slowed last month, up 2.6 percent. The slowdown has been attributed to a sharp fall in global commodity and vegetable prices.
But inflation is widely expected to accelerate later this year, with rising service prices in line with a recovery in the private-sector.
