Beijing has raised the minimum wage to 960 yuan per month, an increase of 160 yuan. But this standard excludes pension funds, unemployment and health care as well as accumulation funds for housing. Subsidies for workers in especially hostile environments are also not included in the minimum wage.
The Beijing government says the monthly salary for employees under probation, should also be paid more than 960 yuan. Employees are endowed with rights to file complaints if there are violations of this new policy. Employers are also recommended to increase wages according to company performance.
