China's Hunan province will upgrade infrastructure for cable TV networks in Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan cities. The upgrade is part of the move to join the pilot program of three networks integration.
Provincial officials say the project is planned to be completed by end of the year. 2 million cable TV users in the three cities will be able to make phone calls, surf the Internet and watch TV programs via cable TV net.
Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan are the first cities selected for the trial program. The three networks integration aims to allow TV, Internet and phone calls to be accessed through a single line.
