Eligible Macao residents are expected to receive cash handouts from the local government, of up to 6000 Macao dollars. The secretary for Economy and Finance Tam Pak Yuen, confirmed that the regulation had already been delivered to the Executive Council for deliberation.

Once approved, the Government hopes to launch this year's cash handout scheme later this month. Every eligible permanent and non-permanent resident of Macao will receive 6000 and 3600 Macao dollars respectively, the same as in 2009.

It's a result of the region's sound economic position. Notification letters will be mailed to the 600-thousand residents prior to the handout.
