Another company in the spotlight is shampoo maker Bawang International. China' food and drug watchdog has passed shampoos made by the Hong Kong listed company as safe to use. It says the levels of a potentially carcinogenic ingredient were within standards.

The State Food and Drug Administration says it immediately investigated and tested samples of the products, and the amount of dioxane were found to be acceptable, and poses no harm.
