China's National Energy Administration is now planning the country's energy development for the next five years. Clean energy has become a key focus.
The administration estimates that by 2015, consumption of natural gas will reach 260 billion cube meters, accounting for 8.3 percent of total energy usage. Meanwhile, consumption of hydro and nuclear power will increase to 250 million and 39 million kilowatts respectively, raising their proportions in preliminary energy consumption by 1.5 percent.
Non-fossil energy consumption will play a much more important role in China's energy usage. Its proportion in preliminary energy consumption will climb to around 11 percent.
