Trade volume between China and Asean countries surged in the first six months, after the launch of the free trade area. Statistics from China's customs show that total trade volume between China and Asean, hit around 136 billion US dollars.
Exports grew around 45, and imports by 64 percent. But industries are responding differently to the trade area. Auto producers say they want the government to further improve the trade environment in Asean countries.
But rubber planters might be hurt by cheaper products from Southestern Asian competitors. Some Chinese enterprises are now considering moving their factories south, where raw material and labour is cheaper.
