South Korea's annual consumer price inflation edged higher in July, along with the sustained recovery of private sector demand in Asia's fourth-largest economy.
Statistics Korea data showed that the consumer price index rose 2.6 percent in July from a year earlier, up 0.3 percent without seasonal considerations. Meanwhile South Korea's manufacturing sector continued to expand in July, but the pace slowed for the third month a row.
Market Economics says its South Korean manufacturing purchasing managers' index fell to 53.25 in July from 53.28 in June. July's reading was the lowest level since last December.
