GEM: 100 firms, 400 bln yuan value

China's growth enterprises market has just welcomed three new companies to be listed. The total number of listed companies has now hit 100.

The market value of the growth enterprises market has broken 400 billion yuan, with an average price and earning ratio of about 64 yuan. The market's index has also climbed back to over 1,000 points after a month-long decline.

Since its launch in October 2009 with just 28 listed companies, the number has now hit 100 in around 190 trading days, growing at at pace of almost 2 listings per day. The growth enterprise market is an important part of China's developing multi-layer capital market. It also plays a role in cultivating the country's medium and small sized businesses.
