Sources from some commercial banks in Beijing say most banks have halted loans to third home buyers. It's in line with the government's policies, targeting the over-heated property market.
Commercial banks such as Bank of China and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, have announced they won't provide third loans. But sources say the loan could still be available at some banks. Banks are allowed to implement the policy according to their own loan-risk conditions, so there are some variations.
Most banks in Beijing carried out tightening measures on third mortgages in May. But sources say some resumed the lending in July.
