Tourism bureaus in Shanghai and Hong Kong are working together to improve tours for mainland visitors to Hong Kong.
The Shanghai Tourism Bureau will work with Hong Kong on three major changes: no compulsory shopping requirements for mainland visitors, no hidden fees for specific travellers and no compulsory activities. 42 travel agencies in Shanghai will sign the letter of commitment in September.
The industry is reminding travellers to deal with established travel agencies, and find out details about packages before signing up.
