Japan Mazda has issued a safety recall in the U.S. 5,000 Mazda-3 and Mazda-5 models are affected by defective power steering systems. The company says the faulty steering fails to boost power when the cars are in motion.
In July, the U.S. traffic safety regulator received 33 complaints about failures in Mazda steering systems. Three accidents have occurred as a result of the defect. On August 13th, Mazda recalled 10 thousand Mazda-3 and Mazda-5 models in the Chinese mainland due to the same problem.
