Chinese Vice Premier, Li Keqiang, says the government is determined to fight housing speculation, and will seek to boost supply of homes.
At a meeting on affordable housing held in Jiangsu, the vice premier urged local governments to bear responsibility for affordable housing construction. He asked them to diversify fund-raising channels, to obtain more investment and sufficient land supplies.
He also reaffirmed the government's goal to resolutely crack down on speculative property investment, and other inappropriate market demands.
Analysts believe this shows the government's control measures on the housing market won't be loosened in the second half.
