Mainland, Taiwan seek SME cooperation

The Cross-Strait Forum for Small and Medium Enterprise development, has begun in northern Hebei province. More than 300 delegates including officials, entrepreneurs and scholars from both sides are attending the two-day event.

The topics discussed cover opportunities for cross-straits SME cooperation, the ECFA and new trends in cross-strait ties. Attendants say SMEs are a major force in economic growth and creating jobs.

The Bohai area has grown in recent years, and maintaining the strong momentum. It's assisting cooperation between Hebei and Taiwan. So far, 1500 Taiwan companies are operating in Hebei including many SMEs.
