The performance of companies listed on ChiNext, China's GEM board, is becoming more differentiated as the board grows.

81 ChiNext companies have released their half year reports, showing an average 27 percent increase in profits compared with last year. The total earnings of ChiNext companies in the first half of this year amounted to about 12.8 billion yuan, an increase of about 26 percent. Of those companies, seven have doubled profits, but the growth of 16 company profits have slowed down.

Analysts say that's mostly because of an increase in raw material prices. The reports also suggest the impact of the global financial crisis is still lingering, creating uncertainties in the second half.
