A new rail link connecting the city of Bangkok to its international airport, has opened to the public.
After construction delays and several test runs, the 28 km rail link is set to transport up to 50 thousand passengers and generate around 480 thousand U.S. dollars per day. The link includes both normal and express services.
It's hoped the new connection will shorten travel times, and ease traffic congestion and pollution. To commemorate the launch, passengers will enjoy special discount fares until the end of December.
