Chinese investors opened more local-currency stock accounts last week than the week before. More than 265 thousand new accounts were opened for trading A-shares in the week ended August the 7th, a 1.2 percent increase from the previous week.
The Shanghai Composite Index ended August basically flat after rising sharply in July. Fund managers said they adjusted their portfolio because of the outlook for supportive economic policy.
