Shenzhen's culture industry has been booming in recent years. In 2009 the industry made some 53 billion yuan, becoming a pillar for the economy. It ranks only after finance, logistics, and the high tech industry.

Shenzhen Top China Culture Company is organizing student bands for the 26th Summer University Games, to be held in Shenzhen next year.

Huang Qing, Board Chairman of Shenzhen Top China Culture said "The bands we selected will be trained in the University Games village. Their first stage will be Damei Beach Music Festival. They will perform with other famous bands."

Company founder Huang Qing, says he set up the company in Shenzhen because of its preferential policies. Now the city already has one thousand companies operating in the culture industry.

Meanwhile, Shenzhen's culture industry is taking advantage of other industries. On the platform of the Culture Exposition and Culture Property Right Exchanges, Shenzhen is injecting finance, assets, technology into culture.

A8 Music Group has adopted advanced technology. It set up a music platform that includes works of 10 thousand musicians. It has patents for 50 thousand music works.

Liu Xiaosong, Board Chairman of A8 Music said "What A8 will provide, is products with high tech creation. For example, if you listen to a song on your cell phone, you press a button, then your home's audio machine will have the same song. We will provide products with high tech creation. "

The city is drafting a plan that will coordinate the culture industry with Internet, new energy, and bio-tech industries. It expects by 2015, the merging of the 4 industries will generate 900 billion yuan annually.
