The Summer Davos Forum has been held in China since 2007. Now let's take a look back its development over the past three years.

The Summer Davos Forum, also known as the Annual Meeting of the New Champions began in September 2007. It was created to establish a platform for a new generation of fast-emerging multinational companies and mature enterprises to exchange ideas and share experiences.

The first Summer Davos Forum was held in the northern Chinese coastal city Dalian on September 6th, 2007 under the theme of "Shifting Power Equation." More than 2000 politicians, enterprises leaders, experts and scholars from 90 countries and regions participated in the forum. They had in-depth discussions on the international business environment, China's economic development and new leading enterprises.

The second annual meeting was held in Tianjin in September 2008 with the theme "The Next Wave of Growth." Experienced business leaders and senior officials interacted with each other on a wide range of issues.

In 2009 the third Summer Davos was held in Dalian with the background of world economic meltdown. Its theme was "Relaunching Growth." Participants discussed economic recovery, green growth and technology advancement. Transformation, innovation and low-carbon were brought up as the keys to relaunch China's economy and the world economy.

This year's forum which has just kicked off in Tianjin focuses on the theme of "Driving Growth through Sustainability."
