The Thai baht's appreciation to a 13-year high has failed to curb demand for auto parts and electronics. Thailand's exports rose for the 10th consecutive month in August.

But the government will implement measures to temper the baht's gains, which may affect overseas shipments in the fourth quarter. Experts say the currency's gains may not yet reduce export orders, but will definitely curb exporter incomes. Weakening global demand is also likely to affect second half results.

Thailand's central bank has proposed measures, including increased limitations on overseas investment and lending to boost fund outflows, which will help slow currency appreciation. The reforms will be implemented this week. Thailand's commerce ministry still expects exports to grow 20 percent to 183 billion U.S. dollars this year.
