Studio discussion: Prediction for 2010 GDP growth

Background: China's economic growth continued to decelerate in the third quarter as the government weans the economy from the stimulus and back to normal. But rising inflation posed new challenges. The gross domestic product (GDP) grew 9.6 percent in the third quarter from the same period last year, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Thursday. Full story >>

For more analysis on the new figures, joining us in the studio is Professor Huo Deming from Peking University.

Q1. Hello Professor Huo. The latest data shows China's GDP growth for the third quarter is 9.6 percent. That's 0.1 of a percentage point higher than previously forecast. Is that figure still within expectations? 

Q2: Now, we also have Professor Patrick Chovanec from Tsinghua University in our studio. Professor Chovanec, how do you see the 9.6 percent GDP growth?
