Leaders have begun arriving for the two-day Group of 20 Summit. And already the United Nations secretary general is calling for unity between the members and with the UN.

UN chief Ban Ki-Moon recognizes the influence of the G20 in the international community. So he's calling for closer cooperation between the U.N. and G20. He also welcomes the G20 tackling the development agenda, and promises to protect the interests of the most vulnerable people worldwide.

Ban Ki-Moon, UN Secreatary General said "As the Secretary-General of the United Nations, I will do my best to ensure that the leaders of the world's biggest and strongest economies build solutions for the poorest and the most vulnerable people around the world, into their plans."

Ban Ki-moon also expressed concerns about divisions within the world's leading economies over global re-balancing and currencies.

But some economists still expect certain agreement.

Kim Jung-Sik, Professor of Yonsei University said "I think it might be possible to have some kind of package deal, which is adjusting currencies of some countries such as China, Japan and South Korea in a lump who have trade surplus with the United States."

This week's G20 gathering is the fifth since the financial crisis. The leaders are also widely expected to express support for a proposal to give developing countries more voting power at the International Monetary Fund.
