ICBC, BOC to provide exchange services of RMB and New Taiwan dollars

The Chinese mainland has approved mutual direct exchange of renminbi and New Taiwan Dollars in Guangdong Province.

Fan Liqing, spokeswoman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office told a press conference, the foreign exchange regulator has permitted the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Bank of China to provide exchange services in Guangdong. The measure will offer Taiwan compatriots attending the Asian Games greater convenience.

The Chinese Taipei delegation of 560 people arrived at Guangzhou, host city of the games, on Monday and will compete in 32 sports during the two-week event.
