APEC members agree to seek sustainable growth

The APEC meeting started on November 7th, with the summit this weekend. This week, the issue of how to promote the world economic recovery will be a hot topic.

APEC members have agreed to work together in seeking sustainable growth on the basis of innovation and knowledge. The Director-General of APEC's Council of Development, Zhang Lijun, spoke about the Fed's new round of QE2. He says members should look for a win-win strategy together instead of using unilateral policies.

Zhang Lijun, Director General of APEC Council of Dev't said "The main themes of the APEC are change and action. After we put forward desired changes, we will also suggest a series of actions. The suggestions will be concrete so to allow the smooth development. These will bring benefits to the people and countries in this region."
