China's State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) announced that select SOEs will distribute additional bonuses in the form of cash dividends to their employees. It's an effort to improve the quality and innovation in these companies.

The special bonus is a part of shareholder profit that will be given to employees who have made a significant contribution to the company, intertwining the interests of employee and company. The bonus will be based on position and performance.

Certain roles are not eligible for the bonus, including senior executives, independent directors, and controlling shareholders. The bonus scheme will be rolled out mostly to high-tech companies first.
