China will likely target 7 and a half trillion yuan in new loans next year - the same as this year - according to the China Securities Journal.

It quoted an authoritative source as saying next year's credit issuance target will not trigger further inflation as the economy is large enough to absorb the loans and CPI won't be as high as expected. But the Journal does say the battle against rising prices is still likely to top the government's agenda in the first half of 2011.

The article goes on to forecast that monetary policy will favor quantitative measures, and the government will be cautious in raising interest rates.
