Apart from flash memory chips, Japan-made home appliances and electronic products like cameras are also major popular items among consumers. Following the earthquake, prices of Japanese electronic products remain stable in Shanghai as retailers have enough stock.

Imported Japanese cameras, including those from Sony and Canon, are mostly sold at more than one thousand yuan, unchanged compared with before the quake. Retailers have not announced price hikes, and their stock is likely to hold out for around a month.

Li Jingfeng, Store Manager of Suning Appliance said "Japan's quake doesn't have a direct impact on the prices of electronic products. There is still a large amount of stock in China. But the prices could fluctuate after the products become out of stock."
