Even though China's economy is showing signs of moderating, it remains one of the world's fastest growing. And with the largest consumer market in the world, China is irresistible to international companies. Likewise, Chinese firms also want a piece of the international market. Qi Tianxing takes a look at two kinds of expansion in China's healthcare sector.

General Electric, one of the biggest companies in the world, is relocating part of its healthcare division to China from the US. Already a front runner in the sector in China, the company is planning to go deeper. It's exploring markets in second and third tier cities, and even the countryside. GE Healthcare China has hired 500 people, to sell their products in western and central China. A senior manager says the move will benefit both GE and China.

Meanwhile, some Chinese companies want to expand their horizons. Neusoft, a supplier of medical equipment, IT solutions and healthcare services, has already ventured outside of China's borders. It already exports its products to around 60 countries and regions around the globe. One of these products is a high-end device... which insiders say signals the global markets' acceptance of Chinese-made medical goods.

So how can other Chinese companies replicate GE's and Neusoft's success?

China is currently the third largest healthcare market in the world, after the US and Japan. And, with the nation's ongoing healthcare reform, analysts say its development looks healthy indeed.
